Free milk

I got a coupon for a half gallon of soy milk for buying two boxes of Kashi GoLean Crunch.  I love the cereal and the price was even reduced when buying two.  So I bought them thinking I would try soy milk.

Let me tell you, soy milk is unyummy.  It tasted like milk that had been aged in an oak barrel for 3 weeks.  Like Satan puked in your mouth.  Thank you, no.

That’s funny. I was just thinking of taking my first shot at soy milk. Based on that description, not a chance. lol. “Like Satan puked in your mouth”. I’m literally laughing out loud.

Dude…my vegetarian sister (not feffie) drinks RICE milk (have you ever seen someone milk a rice?)
Anyway she only buys VANILLA soy or rice milk for drinking or cereal…and only only uses the plain stuff for cooking.

    Still…
    GAG!

It’s an acquired taste, I grant you, but i LIVE on the stuff!

I’d better get myself to an exorcist.

Actually Silk Very Vanilla is pretty good (but I think it’s intended for kids, so they made it sweet and yummy–well, relatively speaking).

I love soy milk, some brands are considerably better tasting than others. I grew up on the stuff so I don’t know what it would be like to transition. Rice and almond milk taste super disgusting to me…so if you don’t like soy stay far far away from those.

i think the thing to remember is this:

you can’t milk soy, so it’s actually soy JUICE. calling it milk is marketing hype. same with coconut juice [although some people would argue that you can indeed milk coconuts...hahah]. if you think of it as drinking soy juice, then it’s actually about what i’d expect.

Very rarely do I actually laugh out loud at a post, but this one has me laughing so hard that I have tears runing down my face! Good one!

I agree with Jeff–you can’t think that soy milk is actually a substitute for milk. You will be (and have been) sorely disappointed. Think of it as a nut flavored shake. I only drink soy milk on it’s own…sometimes with coffee if I’m inspired to pay extra.

Cool! I feel less bad about being allergic to the grossness that is soy!
