Another bad haircut

I had such high hopes for a good hair cut today.  This woman seemed better than the others.  She seemed a little older so I thought maybe she had been doing this for a while.  Nope.  After the first cut I could tell she was new.  Slow and careful each cut told me she didn’t have a lot of confidence.  Even after telling her that my hair had ended up uneven in front from before and that I needed her to correct it, she still forgot to check.  Sigh.  She was a nice person though and didn’t smell like smoke, so that’s really a step up.

I stopped at Target on the way home and bought some hair cutting scissors.  I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I will have to adjust the hair each time.  $16 for a hair cut.  That’s what I get I suppose.  Ofcourse, the shoulder massage at the end kinda makes up for it.  I’m thinking that maybe I need to go during the day so that I’m not the last one and they are rushing out the door.

I ran 4 days last week and got an hour of cardio on saturday.  I could tell I was running more than I should starting off because my legs were like lead near the end.  So the rest days helped alot.  I wanted to run tonight but we got fresh snow and the roads are slick.  I’m really afraid of being hit by a car these days (seems to be a very common occurrence here), so when roads are slippery I stay home.

I have my new night running gear which I’m going to make a larger post about later.  I really like the visibility.

Hope you all are well.

    Q. What’s the difference between a bad hair cut and a good one?

    A. About six weeks.

In my naive youthful days, I thought I could go to Supercuts and save a few bucks. But the one I went to apparently didn’t require that any of their people even have any sort of training.

Isn’t is amazing how you can tell by the way the person handles your hair that they don’t have a clue? When the gal cut my hair, then proceeded to dry the entire mess before even taking a styling brush to it, I knew without looking in a mirror that I looked like Afro-poodle. It’s the only time in my life I walked out without paying for the haircut.

I’ve only gotten crankier about stuff like that in the intervening 25 years. On the other hand, I now will only go to someone who knows how to cut hair.

Yeah, I never get a shoulder massage, were you wearing your wedding ring? Maybe this older non stinker likes you…

Bad haircuts suck. But I’ve taken the same approach: if they screw it up, just take a pair of scissors and finish it off yourself. My hair is short (about an inch long) so I might have an easier time.

I haven’t cut my hair in years, well I haven’t paid to have it cut. I always end up with some weird hair cut that looks like either I or the hairdresser was slight tipsy or downright plastered. I just keep trimming the ends…
