Ok so far
I ran 14 miles yesterday morning and things look good. My left calf still has some stiffness but no shin pain. I was especially mindful at the beginning because that’s when you’ll feel shin splints the most. No shin pain, so I think I doing well.
It was rainy and humid for the run. Drizzly at the beginning, clear in the middle, and then pouring at the end. I found that the running flats get wet very quickly. All the mesh and holes get your feet soaked fast. No blisters though, so maybe the midfoot form helps that.
Another runner passed me near the end. I could hear him coming up from a long ways back. Stomp, stomp. I always feel like I stomp too hard when I run because I can hear my steps so clearly, but when I heard this guy, I was like a cat in comparison. He didn’t have any water with him, so I suspect he was not going too far, maybe 5 or 6 miles.
I tried out the new Fuel Belt. I like it. The bigger bottles are a little harder to get back in the elastic but the opening on the bottle is bigger so I don’t have to work so hard to get a drink now. Still dribbles all over the place. Maybe its me. The new side pocket is easier to deal with than the old one.

Love the “not far”=5 or 6 miles. Only from a runner.

fantastic!!!
what fuel belt are you using? I’m on the endless quest for the perfect fuel belt. you know, the one that doesn’t make me look fat.
