back in the swing
I spent last weekend at an anniversary party for my folks. It was out near Buffalo so it took the whole weekend. I got up Saturday and ran a quick 12 miles, came home, showered and jumped in the car for a 5 hour drive. Saturday night was the party and I ate lots of for that was very bad for me. I didn’t weigh myself all weekend.
I had a good time though and there were lots of relatives I hadn’t seen since I was married 17 years ago, and some even longer. My sister put together a great slide show of old family photos which everyone loved. My brother couldn’t make it and my folks were very disappointed about that. But over all we had a good time. We had the party at the Inn where they had their wedding reception so it was kind of nostalgic in that sense.
I took a couple days off to rest from the 12 miles. It was so HOT and HUMID I thought I was going to die. I can’t recall a more grueling run since the start of this year. Just dreadful. I felt ill afterwards, like I was going to puke. I haven’t had that in a long time. Last night I ran an easy 4 on the nice flat running path with the family riding bikes. The wife remarked that it wasn’t much of a workout for her. Hrrmpff.
Not much else going on. New Haven is a few days away. I have some running to do before that. Oh, and the secret thing is not such a big thing. Anyone else’s response would likely be “Oh, yeah, ok. How very nice for you.” Its just good news for me. But I don’t want to jinx it! So I’m holding it back for the moment. Stupid. I know. :)

Heat and humidity is not fun, but hey you survived and it’s almost autumn. Pretty soon you will be freezing to death ;-)

I did the same thing this past weekend at my sisters wedding. I ate way too much stuff that was bad for me, except I didn’t run at all over the weekend.
