A stitch in time

I was just getting out of my truck to go run last night when my phone (in the truck) rang.  It was my wife calling to say my Dad had fallen and they needed help getting him back on his feet.  I drove to the folk’s house (a mile or two away) and found out in the fall that he had torn open the back of his hand.  I got a nice view of all the tendons.  Fortunately it was on his left hand that has almost no feeling, otherwise he would be in incredible pain.

So I went with my Mom to take him to the ER.  It only took about 3 hrs to get in have him sewn up.  The surgeon was busy that night stitching up all kinds of torn open people.

So no run but looks like Dad will be okay.  He’ll never play piano after this though.  That’s fine.  He couldn’t play before.  (insert cricket sounds here)

My daughter just spent about 5 hours in emergency with a sprained ankle. Could save time if we just drive there and go to the ER

Sorry about your dad. I know from recent experience how it is to deal with parents and their illnesses and injuries. Hang in there.
