No crosstraining today :(
My back hurt far too much to do crosstraining today. If I’m sitting, I’m ok, after much adjusting. When I stand up it takes a while for my back to relax again so I can stand up straight. Crap. I can’t even describe how aggravating this is. I’m hoping the extra day off and the rest day tomorrow will make the running ok.
In the mean time, Erin tagged me with this meme a while ago, to list 5 of my favorites sites, which I have morphed into 5 new running blogs I found that I like. So here they are in random order:
1. See sRod Run - sRod is new to blogging, a long time runner, and training for the Baltimore Marathon.
2. Green Girl Runs - Cassandra just got married (on my anniversary!) and is training for the Akron Marathon.
3. Moderately Hellacious Slacker - Bill is a runner from Texas who could use some strong RBF support right now.
4. Chelseygogun - Chelsea ran the Fairfield Half Marathon today!
5. Fearing the Sedentary Life - Mia is from Ann Arbor, MI (Hey, I just left there!), and she’s training for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon in Virginia Beach.

I’m sorry - that sucks, seriously sucks. Don’t feel all tense about your back because that’s only going to make your back more tense.
I hope it feels better soon!

Jon,
Sorry to hear about your back. Sucks, huh?
Back in 1979 I was moving from Santa Fe to Albuquerque and had been packing, bending, carrying, etc., all day long. The apartment was completely empty except for a brown grocery bag with a few cleaning cloths and miscellaneous items in it. I bent over to pick it up–TWAAAANNNGG!!
Thought you might get a chuckle out of that one. Hope you’re better soon.

Hey, I’ve got a “backstory” too. Some time ago, before mys son was born (9 years ago), I bent down to tie my shoe. I couldn’t get back up. My wife was out at the time, so I spent some time ling on the floor until she got home. My daughter (then 7) gave me a lecture on proper posture that lasted about a week.

I was checking out some of hubby’s favorite running blogs for some running inspiration. I found your list of 5 favorite new running blogs. Turns out one of the runners lives nearby. We may get together for a long run. Thanks so much! Melissa (Jank’s better half)
