Three hours to midnight
As I stuff my face. :)
Seriously though, I’ve been avoiding the cake and gunk all week, except for a brownie and ice cream last night for Mom’s birthday. So now I can stop all that until Easter. I’ve been running the list over in my head. Here’s what I have so far:
Banned from my belly:
chocolate, cake, cookies, candy, cupcakes, brownies, pie, pastries, donuts, soda (gave it up years ago), cotton candy (ok, not a big risk there), marshmallow fluff (getting stupid now), giant three-foot-long pixie stix (ok, that’s enough)
That’s all I have now but you get the idea. I think I can do this. I think.
Something else I need to get rid of: instant oatmeal. But I’m not ready yet. I eat 4-5 packages a day. Its a habit. A nervous habit. A delay tactic. Can’t deal with work? Get some oatmeal! I’m working on it. And yes I know how many calories that is. I may switch to fat-free saltines (like heroin addicts using methadone, nice).
I went to the gym tonight. Meh. Did my hour and read an article in RW about some big time ultra marathon woman who is fighting depression. Ah. If I run it says I can overcome depression, except that if I stop, it will hit me twice as hard. Maybe I should sit on the sofa with advice like that.
Go encourage Pam since she went to the gym. I tease Pam alot (because its easy) but she really is doing a great job getting her butt to the gym and getting herself running again. Its easier to be running when life is wonderful and every race is a PR, than when you back off for a while and then start up again, knowing from experience how hard that long road is to the finish line. Go Pam!

Sounds good! That’s exactly what I do if things (=eating) gets out of control. I write a list of allowed foods (like 40 items, healthy stuff) and eat them as much as I want. I can’t bear being hungry, but I can easily stop eating certain crap when I put my mind into it. Hope it works for you too! P.s. I did not know instant oatmeal is an evil…I looked from my kitchen and there are 124 Kcal in one serving?

If this ban works in the way you want, I want to know why you end the ban. I like Tracy’s plan. Think positive. What 40 good things can you put on the list? Start with water. Only 39 to go.
Linda might be on to something too. There’s a house for sale down the street. Come on down.

I’m reading _Hidden Food Allergies_ and it turns out the 2 most common allergies are cow’s milk and grains (due to the gluten and gliadins). People who got their blood tested for allergies and only had to give up the few foods they were allergic to instantly shed lots of weight, increased energy levels without needing caffeine, and their mood improved. i’d just recommend the book, it might provide you with some good insight! :-)

Kinda sad, but from your entire list of sweets pixy stix were my favorite. God didn’t bless me with a love for chocolate, just cheap sugar.

The chocolate runner is banning chocolate? Hmmm - what is this world coming to? Seriously, good luck with this new diet.

Wow.. that’s an impressive Banned List. I have recently banned high fructose corn syrup, which is really hard. I try not to eat trans fats. Soda is a biggie, I quit years ago. Cheap chocolate. Any sweets that aren’t homemade…

Of COURSE you can do this! you’re way stronger than you think you are.
I hear ya with the instant oatmeal. Here’s how I solved it: I only buy it at Trader Joe’s (their brand) and it’s unsweetened, and I put soy milk on it, and a little salt, and my tastebuds have learned to LOVE unsweetened oatmeal! plus, it’s not addictive! as much!
now saltines…ya had to go and mention them, didn’t ya…
