4 more miles
I ahd 4 on the schedule this morning. My first run since being sick. I’m a little disappointed to have totally lost the body of the week. But I got my 4 in this AM. A drizzly run, but 4 anyway.
My right ankle and quad were sore. No idea why since I hadn’t run at all. I’m worried that too much road running is taking its toll and wimpy legs. I need some trails close by. I can even feel the difference when I move over to the grassy side of the shoulder when there’s space to do it. So much gentler on tired bones.
I think I decided on the 5K. I was looking at one in Albany on 10/16 but there is another one closer on 10/21. Less driving. Its terrible that it comes to that, but it would cost be about $10 in gas to go to the other race. Add that to the cost of the race ($25) and now its one expensive 5K, especially when I’m going alone and its just an “intermediate” one to get me back to my PR. I’ll stay local for now.
And its a nice flat, certified course. Small crowd, maybe 200 if they’re lucky. Let’s all hope for good snacks. :)
I have 6 miles tomorrow. I’d like to take another look at the Saratoga map and see if the park has some trail areas to run on. I think there are some but I’m not sure how long they are. I hate doing alot of laps. Somehow it makes the run feel longer.

Glad you got your 4 in. Just curious…what is your 5k PR? Having a race in a few weeks is a good thing. I’m still trying to decide if the MCL is solid enough to do a half-marathon in November. Brrrrr…hate the cold but….enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Trails so completely rock, I love them. I hope you find some good ones soon!

maybe you could try to supplement your training with some spinning, road running sucks when you have pain.
