4 miles
I got 4 miles in last night. The temps have dropped very nicely here so the run was pretty decent. I was feeling pretty good about it too because I wasn’t dying like I normally am. Just under a 9:00 pace which I think was where I often was training at, so maybe some of my cardio vascular fitness is returning. Just need to drop the extra pounds.
The house is still jam-packed with stuff so its a little discouraging coming home to the disaster. We’ve found a nice outlet for discarding things that should be just trashed so that will make things easier.
Oh, and I did find the chocolate couverture and the temperer. Heh, heh. The temperer is on the kitchen counter which I’m sure annoys the wife to no end. But you need these things out where you can find them.
Things I didn’t miss about being in a neighborhood? Lawn mowing. Used to be I could just let it go for a month or two because nobody cared. Now I have to mow it once a week. I remember this. It sucks. Its the battle of the lawns. I may plant dandelions intentionally.
And remember how ABC Warehouse sucks? We I may have the NY version of them soon. We ordered our fridge for the new house before the closing. Still waiting. First it was delayed a week because it came to the store damaged. Then one arrived at the house a week later, damaged (no, we don’t think $30 is a good discount), now it was delayed 5 days because they shipped the wrong color. Anyone care to guess what they will call and say on Saturday? I’m thinking it will be a dishwasher instead. Name of useless merchant to follow.

Glad to hear the run felt ‘right’ to you, basically back to where you were during all the consistent training. I’m sure that’s reassuring. Now, about the fridge …..

did the saleswoman at that store wear sandals that had flashing lights inside the heels? haha, appliance and furniture stores have the crappiest sales people sometimes.

Glad to hear you had a nice run. Oh…and consider the lawn mowing a sweet fat burner! Attitude is everything.

OMG no fridge? How do keep your ice cream frozen? Dandelions for sure, maybe some milkweed for the monarchs while you’re at it! Battle of the lawns, blah!

Life sounds like it’s returning to normal…

Lawn battles sound like fun! Hope you find a place for everything in the new house so that it WON’T bug you wife. Battle of the counters could be what’s next. I’d hate to see your chocolate do-hinkey find its way to the junk.

Good run Jon.
Ah - the joys of moving…

Glad to hear you felt like you ran a solid run!
Moving is never fun. I think we’ve been here 8 years and there still may be a box or two we haven’t opened. I’m not sure.
Mowing…don’t get me started on that.
Sorry to hear about the appliance deal. I have similar stories about a bed we ordered.
I’m not sure if you were the one who posted the anonymous comment at my blog, but if so, thanks! If not, then I’d like to share my moment of triumph with you. Today I ran a 5:56 mile on a course with an uphill section. Can you believe it? Me! I wanted to share because I’ve found your blog to be a source of motivation so I wanted to say thanks. Thanks!
