Unremarkable
“Unremarkable…that’s what you are…”
The radiologist says my xray are “unremarkable”. Thanks. Well, yeah, thanks because there’s nothing wrong with the bones in my back.
“Frontal lateral and oblique views of the lumbar spine show no evidence of a fracture. The vertical body heights appear fairly well preserved. No spondylolishesis or scoliosis is seen. No osteophyte formation is noted. Unremarkable lumbar spine radiographs without evidence of fracture or degenerative disc disease.”
I have the xrays but can’t find a way to scan them so they show up.
OK, so I’m good to go. Um, as soon as all the torn up muscle gets better. It actually does feel better today. I guess it needs to. I want to go running tomorrow. And I have a race I signed up for. Heh. Ok, maybe that wasn’t the wisest move, but I just need something to do instead of jogging past the cows or sitting inside staring at the rain falling down.
Here’s the plan:
- Lose 20 pounds by next week.
- Get my long run up to 5 miles by next week.
- Drop my pace down to 7 minutes/mile.
I just know I can do it, if I start running right now, and stop eating until friday. Or maybe I’ll just try and finish.

I know you can do it, too. I am the same way with a goal. No goal, no progress. Now that you’re settled, you can focus on you. Have fun!

You could probably eat brown rice and drink water and still lose 20 pounds by Friday!;) Maybe even some meso broth too!

Seems a number of us RBFers want to get in better shape. I think a challenge should be issued. So umm Mark posted a shirtless “before” picture, where’s yours?????? :-)

The long run should be no problem, just do it! If you find a way of getting 20 lbs off by next week, please post it!

Sounds like an ambitious undertaking. Can’t wait to find out how it all turns out.

Finally catching up with you … sorry your back is still misbehaving! At least it isn’t a fracture, but it still sounds ouchy to me.
Good luck with the race. That post-race generous buffet sounds possibly tempting, although I guess while that might help motivate #3 it’d be detrimental to #1.

RUN FOREST RU…I mean Jon!! Good luck!!!!!! I just ran a PW (personal worst) for a 5K myself. There is no shame :) I am sure you will do SPLENDID!!!
