Same story, different state
I went to the doc yesterday, and got the same story as always. She said its muscle strain (with some long medical name) and that I need to rest, take a TON of ibuprofen, and do stretches. Oh and I got a referral for PT, but it won’t be the same without Shannon. :(
I asked her if she thought it could be a slipped/burst/slidding/eff’d-up disk, and she said no. The pain would never get better like that if it was, BUT she would prescribe x-rays if I wanted to be sure. So I said yes. Yeah, I got xrays. ME who hates xrays. That’s just to let you know how very desperate I am to find out what the heck is wrong.
The xray place was right down the road and I only waited a few minutes and they took me right in. 5 xrays (I had to wear the little green hospital pants). They don’t have to send them off to develop them anymore (I live in a cave). 10 seconds and they pop up on the screen. I had a look, it all looked normal to me, although I have NO idea what abnormal would look like. There was a dark blobby area and I asked if that was my stomach. “That’s your colon.” Ewwww. She said the doc would have the results tomorrow after the xray guru looks at them.
When I got home from work, my mom said the doctor’s office had called, but the office was closed already so I’ll just stop by on the way to work. It makes me wonder why they called so soon. Paranoia is not pretty.
No running today. Uh, or yesterday. Waist is expanding rapidly. Send duct tape for mouth fast.

Hey Jon. Can you take a digital photo of your radiographs while they’re on the light/viewbox…post ‘em on your blog so we can all see ‘em. Radiologists look for pathology. Chiropractors look for structural problems which may be causing your pain. Regardless, you know it’s related to your nervous system because that’s the only way pain is transmitted as a sensation to your brain for you to feel it.

Produce is your friend. Carbs are not your friend (at least not a lot of them) Ice cream - definitely not your friend.
Hope the back gets better soon so you can start running and therefore eating again.
