“Well, I’m back.”
After three (yes, THREE) psychotic drives from Michigan to New York State, two one-way airplane rides, thousands and thousands of dollars in moving expenses, and one aching back, I’m am finally home.
Just wanted to pop in and say “hey” and say how much I’ve missed posting. I’m going to officially be taking the reigns back from Pam now, although she ofcourse retains her password for the occasional random posting. And if anyone hears from her, please tell that woman to call me or something.
Its been a wild and crazy trip. All kinds of stuff I have to talk about, but its all kinda flooding in right now so I have to put it out there in little bits and pieces. But its great to be back. Back in NY and back on the blog.
I’ve only run a little bit since the last race so I’ve gained over 10 pounds and I need to get my self back on track. I ran a little here but I’m still trying to find a good place to run. Something with trails, y’know? I wanted to run the Boilermaker but I’m afraid I’m so out of shape now that I won’t be able to do it. I need a plan. I need to lose 15 pounds by August 15th for my first doctor’s appointment out here. I think this information will sit in the record forever and I want it to be good so they don’t jack up my insurance because my cholesterol was 1500 and my bp was 215/125.
The new job is great. People are wonderful and the work is always interesting. Can’t say much more than that because its all secret hush-hush kinda stuff. I have a nice easy drive to work from my parents house. Yes, I’m staying with my parents until I close on the house out here. Yes, its very strange and running into people I graduated with is even stranger. I may need a shrink before all this is done.
My back is developing some strange kind of pain, like before. Its seems to have calmed down for now but the other day at work it was so bad I couldn’t stand up straight or cross one foot over the other. I went outside and tried a little jog around the building, but that didn’t hurt. I guess that’s a good sign. :)
Ok, I need to go unpack the car from the last trip to MI. The movers forgot to pack the giant hexagonal glass insert from our table. I had to drive it back here. Its ok, I had to drive here anyway. More on that later.
I hope everyone is well. Somebody please email me right away if something tragic has happened to someone I know but didn’t find out yet.
PS
Still haven’t got a good name yet. Jon left Michigan? Jon was in Michigan? Just Jon? Maybe it would be a funny joke to leave it Jon in Michigan and then everyone would think I was there but I’m actually here. Maybe not.

Welcome back Jon-not-in-Michigan! I was going to start doing my own chocolate reviews here pretty soon if you didn’t. Still might. My in-laws gave us a lovely tin of House of Brussels drinking chocolate recently that looks interesting.

June 26th, 2006 01:35
Yes, welcome back. It has been a while since I have been able to check out the latest posts and there you were, so even if you were posting before I would not have been following - going through a busy time like you - but not living with parents (after all, I need my dignity) Anyway it is good to hear from you.
Instaed of a name you need a symbol(eg. ~&~) and then we will call you “formally known as Jon in Michigan”
