Dirt
Does anyone have any idea how much dirt 4 “yards” of dirt is? Its a pile the size of my truck and it grows bigger if you don’t unload it fast enough.
We bought 4 yards of topsoil to fill in a low spot on the side of our house and it turned out we needed about a yard of dirt, not four.
So we spent all night moving it to other places around the house. We couldn’t leave it there at the top of the driveway (by the house) because we had two showings today. so, there we were, hauling dirt until 1 AM.
But now I have a beautiful new flower bed and my tomatoes are in the garden. I hope the buyers appreciate all my hard work.
No running yet, but tomorrow I start again. Its my first day of unemployment. My last day of work was Friday (I know, I never talk about work, right?). It was really strange leaving. I went out to lunch with my group and some other folks, and I went home right after lunch.
I think my boss was suprised that I wasn’t staying the whole day, but she understood since 1) I had no more work to do, and 2) I already had my exit interview and they took my entry badge. As far as personel was concered, I was gone already. Its ok, I gave her a nice review in the interview.
So tomorrow I have no job to go to, which is good in one way, but scary in another. Good to sleep in, bad to get no money tomorrow. Anybody want to buy a house?

Want to come here and make my yard pretty? Yours sounds nice.
How long is your contract with the realtor? Maybe another agent would be more enthusiastic (and give you the colored flyers). OR you need that plywood sign.
Enjoy the extra sleep!

Three years ago we quit our jobs, sold the house and moved here. It was great for us and will be for you as well.
As for hauling dirt…I’ll be doing the same with gravel shortly to fill in 10×10 spot for our hot tub to be delivered very soon.

Enjoy it.
Chris isn’t allowed to buy topsoil anymore for that very reason.
MEN!

I’ll buy it. I’m so sick of renovating this house, that I’m willing to become Bev from Michigan.

If I had a job in Michigan I would buy your house.
It is a good thing you are a runner - you will need this to get through the realtor blues.
p.s. It is a good time to work on your Chocolate cookbook.

I had a similar experience with pea gravel. When the truck arrived I thought they had the wrong house.
The end result was lovely, but I wore myself out, got a sunburn and ruined a pair of Dansko’s.

Wow, 4 yards is a whole lot of dirt! Good luck with the move, sleep in and relax!

Enjoy the time off! You’ll be making money soon enough–nobody ever died wishing they spent more time at work.

still shoveling?
Ever wonder, when they (realtors) make you do things like that, well…I bought it when it had a slopey side yard.

This doesn’t really have to do with dirt, but I’d like to thank you for putting up a link to tinleyharrer Now that comcast won’t let me host my own website (boo!) I’m using the Blogger site only. Thanks!!!!

Hokey Smokes Jon, such big things happening for you. Thank goodness you will have yummy tomatoes to strengthen your body and revive your spirit along the way. Sending a prayer and good vibes your way…guess I best start reading to figure out what’s going on. ~hugs~

I had seven yards of mulch delivered in the morning which I disposed of quick enough; followed by one yard of stones. I still have 9/10 of those stones in the driveway and no idea where to put them. Need some stones for you garden?
