me: I’m typing a very whiny post about moving.
Pamalamadingdong: huzzah
me: huzzah?
Pamalamadingdong: it’s a pirate thing or something
me: Is that like Shazam.?
Pamalamadingdong: yes…with less magic
me: huzzah. Are you sure its spelled right?
Pamalamadingdong: um…no
me: Does that affect the magic?
Pamalamadingdong: http://www.huzzah.com/ you are SUCH a pain in my ass
me: Yes, but its a good pain.
Pamalamadingdong: uh huh
Definitions of Huzzah on the Web:* Huzzah (originally huzza) is an old English expression of joy or approbation. According to the Oxford English Dictionary it is “apparently a mere exclamation” without any particular derivation. The OED notes, however, that in the 17th and 18th centuries it was identified as a sailor’s cheer or salute, and thus was possibly related to words like heeze and hissa which are cognates of hoist.

If you ever have occasion to attend a Renaissance Faire you will find yourself exclaiming ‘Huzzah!’ repeatedly. That’s what they do there.

Jon, I’ve been out of blogland for some time… but I’m back. Nice to catch up on your blog. And best of luck selling the house. Moving is such a pain in the arse - I plan on dying in my house… merely out of my hatred of moving. Yeah, well, “huzzah” or whatever on the new job. Be well!

My husband (DH) is a realtor! If you get too tired of the 20-something, he’ll be happy to fly over :) Or wait - all possible buyers are fluent in Finnish, right?
