I’m back!
Got back a little while ago from the Around the Bay. I’ll post more details later but this was just a fabulous race. I felt GREAT during the whole thing (ok, except for after the hill from hell). I got to meet Warren and Ali (who are very cool), and somewhere out there was Cliff, but I never saw him. And Beansprout was there as well but I swear I saw her but was too afriad to ask a complete stranger if she was “beansprout”. :) Ya weren’t wearing your hair pulled back with a thin blue rubberband were ya, ’sprout?
Unofficial time was 2:43:XX. Which put me under my 3:00 goal. Yea! Like I said, I felt really good during the race, but feel like mashed potatoes now.
Gross note from the race: Got back to the hotel room afterwards to find GIANT chunks of salt around my eyes and down my face. No wonder nobody wanted to talk to me. :D
More later.
PS
I wore the lycra!

Excellent run, Jon! You blew me out of the water. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to meet you and no I didn’t have my hair in a blue band.
March 27th, 2006 07:13

I do want to run ATB next year. It is so nice. You have a really good time. Geez you run fast :D. It must be the chocolate at work :D
March 27th, 2006 14:31
You were smokin!!! I hope someone got photos of you in lycra! Congrats!
March 27th, 2006 15:54
Smokin’! Maybe laying off the chocolate isn’t all bad!
March 27th, 2006 17:19
I hear you on the salt formations! I had salt crusted all over my forehead and the sides of my face. Total ick. And nobody told me. I thought that’s what friends are for!
March 27th, 2006 17:20
I forgot to add that I normally don’t have salt encrusted on my face - this was from the marathon this past Saturday ….
March 27th, 2006 21:10
Alrighty then. Jon is back on the reservation and fired up. Pass him some water and a protein shake.
Good job!
March 27th, 2006 22:07
Good job Jon!
March 27th, 2006 22:46
Congrats on going so far under your goal time. I hate to suggest that maybe it was the lack of chocolate lately??
March 27th, 2006 23:27
The snow and the lycra obviously agree with you!
March 28th, 2006 07:01
Way to go!! You never go wrong with lycra!
March 28th, 2006 12:59
i read your chocolate patch entry (your site came up when i googled chocolate and running) and saw the effects of chocolate on the brain. I was wondering if you happened to also know the effect of chocolate before a run.
March 28th, 2006 22:55
Don’t feel bad Jon, I know a guy who is training for his first marathon with TNT and he is too much of a coward to wear lycra also, hehe! Says he’d be laughed out of hunting camp cronies group! Good job on your time by the way!
March 29th, 2006 09:56
Awesome!!! Are additional congratulations in order, or is Pamalamadigdong just pulling our legs? I’m a little dense and sometimes have a hard time telling when people are joking! Of course I’ve been so busy I could have missed the announcement here too.
March 29th, 2006 11:06
Still waiting for lycra pics!!!
