Does Mocha counts as chocolate? :)
No you didn’t!!
You are a braver sole than I am.
Good luck.
Nooooooooooooooooo………………
I mean – good luck with that. I’m sure you feel very pure 39 days from now.
awww!! will you have carob instead?
So very brave!
My choice would have been to give up shin splints. Can you change your choice? ;-)
Oh MY!
But what am I going to do without a daily dose of Michagander humor?
Oh, crap – you don’t mean you’ve given up chocolate, do you?
OH NO…. not chocolate! i tried that a few years ago— may i suggest chocolate milk?
good luck!
You selfish jerk, now what are WE supposed to do here on Fridays for the next 39 days then? Huh? You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Go stand in the corner.
Light AND dark??
Do they make a cocoa patch you can wear to prevent detox withdrawals?
Oh dear! Does it count if it’s made with splenda??
Who’s taking bets he doesn’t make it. Should we start a pool…I’m in – I bet he makes it 6 days and then I bet he eats a whole batch of truffles…lol..lol..lol…
Holy cow. That is a sacrifice. Good luck.
Hey Jon – I’ll eat your share o.k.
but…..whyyyyy??????????
arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
okay. i thought about going sans junk food for lent-just to see if i could. i think i can. you can too. you’re motivating me to do it. thinking. thinking. ok, i’m in. (except for my trip out of the country. i mean, that’s once in a lifetime, right? what if they have special junk food in japan?) but other than that…maybe…maybe…okay, yes, i’m in. thanks jon.
Are you even catholic? That was a STUPID thing to do…any good catholic knows you choose simple things to give up…like say…green peas or liverwurst. DUH!
DUDE! NO WAY! Jeez, I sure am glad I don’t practice self-deprivation. Way to be!
oh my.
isn’t there a movie with that plot?
Is carab chocolate?
Be strong!
I am impressed! That would be like me giving up coffee. And you’d have to pry my espresso out of my cold, dead fingers before I give that up.
*GASP*
You’re a much better person than me! Good luck….
Noooooo! Say it isn’t so, Jon! Be strong, you can do it. I have faith in you. I gave up alcohol for lent, and I’m not even Catholic…
What! That’s lunacy!
(My mother made me give up candy once for Lent … we weren’t Catholic, but it took me about eleven days to figure that out.)
That was the most hilarious friggin’ post I’ve read in a long time. You GO Jon!! Talk about denying of self and sacrifice. Lord have mercy! ;-)
Dude, I know you’re gonna blow me off when I say this…but when the craving hits…again…eat a piece of cheese. Do the part-skim low fat stuff that you do, but I swear it’ll take the edge off the huge carb/sugar/and even choco craving.
You are going to GO TO TOWN on Easter Sunday!! Haha!
Jon, didn’t understand your 3week, 3 day, 3 hour question. But I know that carb (sweets) cravings are the most intense during the first 2 weeks of deprivation. So, load up on the cheese dude. Protein shakes help, too. After that, the biochem in the body changes, and the cravings reduce significantly (ketosis). Anyway, hope that helps.
dude, you are SO making it into heaven come Easter! You are really going to enjoy the bunny’s ears this year!
good luck.
