I found it!
Remember when I lost my jump drive a few months back? Well our dryer stopped working tonight and when I crawled down on the floor to start taking it apart, guess what I found under the edge of the washer.
My secrets are safe once again. :) Wierd thing is that I couldn’t find anything wrong with the dryer. Works fine now.
Speaking of broken things. There is something in the wall of our bathroom that makes this vibration noise when the furnace runs. The furnace is right below it and it makes the beams vibrate. Apparently, it is just the right frequency to make something in the wall rattle. Its driving me nuts. I’m going to drill a hole in the wall near the noise and completely empty one of those cans of spray urethane foam in there.
Oh, and the other night I went out to light the grill with my long lighter (the igniter wires got chewed by racoons long ago), and a MOUSE comes running out from underneith to sniff the lighter to see what it was. You know how when you have a pet mouse and it comes out to see what food you brought? That’s what this thing did. I pounded on the grill to chase his mouse ass out of there, and then dug all the grease and stuff out of bottom of the grill and cleaned it out good. Damn thing’s lucky I didn’t light it right then and there and send him straight to mouse heaven in a charbroiled extra krispy bucket.
I ran 7 miles today in a light but cold rain, out at the State Park. Not alot of folks on the trails, but I wore my hunter’s hat anyway. It kept the rain off at least. There was alot of mud on the trail but it was thicker than before so it didn’t get all over my shoes this time.
It turns out I made to Frostbite Falls last month. I had run an extra mile earlier in the month and forgot about it, so I was only 1 mile behind and I made that up on the 31st. So I was on track for Frostbite, and still on track for The Bay.
My legs feel tired and sore today. The calves are achy, but no shin splints yet. I’ve been doing all treadmill and trails. Trying to keep it soft on the legs. There was an article or a picture caption of an Olympic runner I think, and he said he runs as much trails as he can to save his legs for race day, instead of beating them up on concrete. I haven’t had much luck with other methods, so I’ll try that one. Trails and dreadmill.
I do have some soreness in my left calf kinda of at the base of the muscle. I had felt it on an earlier run and it was sore today too. May have strained something before. I’m hoping it will pass without incident.
I watched The Incredibles the other night with the family. Someone had given us the movie and my son was dying to watch it. It was surprisingly good. I thought it would be just obnoxious as hell but it actually was damn funny and exciting. I have a thing for Holly Hunter too, so that made it even more enjoyable. One question though, why did Gazer Beam write KRONOS in the cave before he died. Had he figured out the password somehow? I didn’t get that.
My new shoes arrived. I had run out to Finish Line to get them in the store but they didn’t have my size, so I ended up ordering them online. And this sounds like such an ad but I went through bizrate.com. I have a link in my links list, and I went there, checked the listing and Finish Line had the lowest price for my Reebok Road Lite’s. Love the shoes. Nice wide toe pocket. Very inexpensive. I’m happy. This is the pair that I will be running the race in, since the other’s are at 135 miles now, and by the end of March they would have too high mileage to be comfortable.
Sorry for missing Chocolate Friday again. I have next week all ready so I was mess up again. Well, not next week anyway.
Hope everyone is running well this week. I haven’t had alot of time to comment on the blogs. Not much time for reading either. :(

I’ve become so paranoid about my electronic information. Like, if I die, are my parents going to go through my computer? Or what about when I return my computer to my company? I don’t want my “secrets” (which really aren’t so important anyway) to get out either! You must be so relieved!!
I am glad you are on track with your running. No pun in intended!!!

So cool that you found your jumpdrive and you are on schedule for ATB. I am feeling woefully undertrained at this time and have to make a decision about whether I’m going to race. It’s only 7 weeks away. Hmmmm…
And the little mouse…glad you didn’t fry him. The mouse is a symbol of scrutiny. Is there something you need to take a better look at?

I, too, found The Incredibles entertaining, I would give anything to be Dash or maybe the stretchy mom. We watched Bad News Bears last night, also a good movie except there are a lot of “shits” and “dicks” and “ass” so if your son is too young for that you might want to wait for a couple of years!

Hi again, Jon, I am entering a chocolate cake contest in our town’s chocolate festival. Do you have a good recipe for a rich chocolate cake? I put my email in the thingy above my comment, maybe you could email me a recipe, if you have one. Thanks, I’ll post some photos of the fest for you! Wish you lived closer to CT.

I’m glad you found your jump drive! I’ve been missing out on reading and commenting too . . . so busy lately.

Oh, from the title, I thought perhaps you’d found your cheese…since someone moved it and all…

I love finding lost things.

Great job with all your running! We found a bill tonight behind a sofa cushion that I had been looking for for about two weeks! I had already paid it online by now but I was still so flubbered up about not being able to find it! It was actually behind Pippin’s cushion so now we blame the dog. Hopefully all this lost and found will mean we find the remote we lost back in June soon!

Looks like the gremlins that are usually playing tricks on you were on your side this time.

Glad you found your jump drive. And it sounds like you’re back to running form - good 7-miler. Post a photo of your shoes, if you get a chance. Or a link. I’m in the market for new shoes, myself ….

That’s it, no more jump drives in the laundry room. I lost my cell phone IN THE CAR last night, and couldn’t even call it to find it, because it was turned off :P. I HATE losing things, but thankfully my husband is a very patient finder.
I’ve been quite the turtle when it comes to reading other blogs, too. Not really keeping up, but I’m RUNNING at least. Glad you made it to FBF!

Yay - still on track for the Bay! I gotta find 2 crazies (I mean runners) to do it as a relay with me - there’s no way I’ll be ready for that hill at the end in time.
Also, Yay! for finding the jump drive! I have a Lexar MP3 player that uses the jump drives - they’re awesome!

nearly grilled mouse and weird bathroom vibrations, hmm.

yay for finding the lost drive! funny how the bum (but not really bum) dryer was what lead you to find it. must have been the ghost.
i opened up my grill the other day to find rat droppings in it and underneath, too. must have been an old burger patty that dropped down under the burner and fed a family for a while.
