Help
Ok, I said I’m going to throw out 1000 pounds of junk from my house. I’ve got about 20 so far with the Ebay stuff (is that how much I said?), but I’m having trouble with one of the first items.
Its a broken HP Scanjet 5200C. It was a lovely scanner when it worked, but the scanner board fried itself, and now it doesn’t work. I know its fried because I smelled it burning and I found the little module that is all charred and burst open on the board.
I can buy a used one on Ebay for around $35 including shipping. A new board is hard to find and I think the only price I found was in the hundreds. Forget it.
I need to throw this away, but its so pretty and nice and wonderful technology except for the fact that it doesn’t do anything.
Please tell me to throw it away.
Oh yeah, and does anybody want a totally unused pair of the green Superfeet inserts? Men’s 11 1/2 -14, Women’s 12 1/2+. I’m sending them off to the rummage sales unless someone in the RBF would like them. They are normally about $30 so if you are planning on buying a pair, just hold off and I can send them to you for free.

Sometimes finding a place that recycles things like this makes me happier than just contributing to the landfill. Most areas have a recycling center for electronics/computer stuff, maybe you could google it.
Before I got my new great shoes, I would have loved some inserts, but as I am not a Sasquatch, it wouldn’t have worked anyway.

Try http://www.freecycle.org. You can join a list that is local to you - you post anything you want to get rid of…I’ve gotten rid broken things within 20 minutes of posting them…saying ‘broken tricycle’ or whatever it may be. I love that I don’t have to load up the truck to get rid of it either..I can specify ‘for pickup’ or whatever. Anyway, love it. Thought it might help you.

Pitch it! I go through phases, I hoard things and let my house get cluttered, but then I will go crazy pitching things. I’m in a pitching phase right now. Need any help?
