See what I meme?

Mateo and Karen tagged me for the 5 random things meme. I think I’m the last one on the planet to get this done but if you haven’t done it yet, do it. It was very hard to come up with these because I already did the 100 things post (which ended up being pretty random in itself). Here goes.

1. About fifteen years ago when I was in Washinton, DC, my friend and I climbed up on top of a plywood construction wall to get a better view of the White House, and it only took the Secret Service 5 minutes to come out and yell at us.

2. I used to take square dancing in High School. Yes, funky checker-patterned shirt that matched my partner’s dress and everything. We even had fancy laminated name tags. I was so very cool. No, there aren’t any pictures.

3. I used to own a ferret that loved to unroll the toilet paper in the bathroom and then sleep in the pile.

4. When we got married, my wife and I were planning on going to King’s Dominion for a honeymoon. When we got there we discovered it was closed for the season (Just like Walley World in Vacation). So we went to Busch Gardens instead. There were 100 people in the whole park and we didn’t have to wait in any lines at all (note the empty corrals and turnstiles). We went on the Roman Rapids about 10 times in a row before we were too wet to stand it anymore.

5. When I went to Italy to give a lecture at a conference, they made us stay in this really boring resort with a terrible view and the weather was awful. Gosh, I hope I don’t have to do that again.

I think I can sympathize about having to put up with crummy accomodations at a conference too. They did something similar to me and I made a blog post about it:

I like that you found visual effects for your five things about you. I love empty theme parks that allow you to ride your fav over and over. Italy - such a trashy conference site. So do you think the NSA has been tapping our blogs?

Square dancing in NY state - that’s hilarious!! Italy looks so beautiful and WARM! I wonder how long it would take the Secret Service to getcha now - maybe you should try it again and see!

I had a ferret too- one time we noticed some candles were missing from the bookshelf, we found them behind the couch, with about a garbage bags worth of candy and cookies. We had no idea he had been collecting all of that stuff!
