Lost my jumpdrive

Sounds like an Austin Powers movie line.

I had my jumpdrive when I left work on Friday, but it wasn’t in my coat pocket when I was heading back this morning. I was hoping it was sitting on my desk or something, but it wasn’t.

There wasn’t anything terribly valuable on it, and I don’t leave passwords there, but it does have a pile of links that I don’t think I’ll ever find again by accident. Grrr. I hope it turns up or someone is honest enough to turn it in at work or someplace I went if they find it.

Honestly, what would you do if you found a $100 jumpdrive lying on the ground? I guess most folks would plug it in to see what was on it. They probably wouldn’t know where to turn it in, so they’d just keep it. Even this link isn’t on it so they probably won’t even find this page. Damn. :(

Seven miles on Saturday. I can’t remember the time. It wasn’t too bad, but I’m finding that my achilles is still sore after all this time. I hope this has not become a chronic thing. I need to head back to Karen’s House of Pain and see what I can do about it.

My shins have been very quiet, and I’m hoping that the new stretching has been helping. Although, to be honest, I suspect they are quiet because the mileage is down to about a 15 miles per week right now. As it builds up again, I suspect the shins will begin their usual whining.

Weight? Its going up higher and higher. As of this morning I am UP 4 pounds. Sucks. I don’t remember having this much trouble last year. Maybe I need to work a little harder. I’ve been putting in the crosstraining and pumping it up so that my HR is in a good target zone. I’ve added a little bit of cardio on the 3 mile run days so I have at least 45 minutes in the workout. Just seems like its not enough to combat the snacking.

And the snacking is another thing. I just can’t seem to be unhungry. What’s up with that?

Jon: AVOID the sugar. Seriously. Dark is okay, milk…too much sugar…just for a couple of weeks to give it a whirl. When you get hungry, nibble on cheese (mozarella cheese sticks are awesome snacks!). The protein will quell the hunger monster, you’ll avoid the insulin spike which causes your cells to go nuts and store the sugar in your adipose (fat) everytime you eat the sugar. Start eating more protein when hungry…feel full longer…and pounds will shed with no sweat. I am NOT a fan of Atkins (does terrible things to the pancreas), but food combining with the right types of foods makes sense nutritionally, biochemically, and it WORKS. Did you know that the stomach digests proteins and the small intestines break down starches. One more thing that helps with weight loss, energy, sleep, and overall health. Drink LOTS of water. If you weigh~ 160-170 lbs. then you should drink 1.5 gallons of water a DAY. That’s 1 sip of water every 15 minutes from when you wake up to when you sleep. If you drink other sugary or caffeiney crap, no problem…don’t ditch the addiction just yet, just ADD the 1.5 gal of water a day and you’ll notice results in a week. I measure out my water 1 - 1.25 gal in the nifty Nalgene quart bottles and refill throughout the day. Prolly weren’t expecting such a long comment, can’t help it, this is my forte, my passion!!

um…ok…I DID find a jumpdrive! A 1gb jumpdrive in a parking lot. A HUGE parking at the zoo. There was NO where to hand it in. I could not get back into the Zoo (even if I wanted to) and I had a feeling handing it one of the people with flashlights was futile. Anyway I took it home and (scanned it for viruses) popped into my computer. EMPTY. Absolutley EMPTY. So now I have another jumpdrive. :)

You mentioned shins, shin-splints? I’ve been dealing with those myself. As for me, it’s b/c I just start running again after a whole year off.
Good luck on the jumpdrive, you never, it could turn up any time when you least expect it. :)

Probably a really stupid question for all you computer…uh…i don’t want to call you geeks but…anyway…what the hell is a jumpdrive? And Dolly is totally bang on with the diet thing. Sugar is evil and will derail any effort anytime! Oh…but I’m still going to send you some chocolate (unless you tell me NOT to!)

I’ve always had the drive to jump for chocolate. Is it missing? No. Can’t get rid of it. Go really slowly with the increased mileage and I bet your shins will cooperate this time.

Depending on where you lost it, there are still plenty of people out there that cant tell the difference between a jumpdrive and a keychain. Hopefully a geek finds it.

Can’t help you with the weight, I’m usually going the opposite - trying to keep it or gain. Maybe you can try herb teas when you start feeling hunger to hold you over until regular meal time.

I blame the winter! It’s cold and dark all the time and I just want to snack, snack, snack. It’s like I think I’m a bear and I need to hybernate or something! I wish!!

ya, so if i found one, i wouldnt know i had found one cause i dont know what a jumpdrive is.

but i do know that during my weekend run i thought of your post and how each pound adds several seconds to your pace. and so i got rid of two gu’s in my back pocket beacuse i imagined they were slowing me down beyond belief.
