I would offer the suggestion that if your marathon will be on streets or hard surface you try to do a greater portion of your long runs on a similar surface. I ran almost entirely softer forest/field surfaces training for my first marathon and regretted it the whole 26.x miles as it was all city streets. This Sunday my second marathon will also be 100% city streets but this time I did at least 70% of my long runs on asphalt. I'll let you know if it makes a difference! Hi Jon glad you had a safe trip.
