8 miles
I ran 8 miles last night. My legs were really achy for the first couple miles so I took it slow. I had that sharp kind of pain in my lower left leg again. Its like the whole thing hurts at once. Hmmmmm. For the month of August I hit 104 miles, so maybe the higher mileage is taking its toll. 4 more tonight then rest.
I saw two fawns last night while running. They were in the middle of the road and watched me approach for a long time. I think I was maybe 50 feet from them before they finally darted into bushes along the road.
I got the latest copy of Runner’s World the other day and was reading through it while I sat in the tub. There was an article about running blogs and they had some quotes by Alison. It seemed kind funny because I think they must have photos by her in that same issue.
Not much else to talk about today. I’m busy with work, getting packed, and making truffles for the trip. :)

?making truffles for the trip?—are they for your car ride or for New Haven? I would run as fast as lighting if I knew one of your truffles would be waiting for me at the finish line! :)

Glad you figured out your plan or New Haven. I’m sure it will be a great time. I’m also curious if the truffles come in pre-race or post race.

Thank you so much for your helpful advice about my knee pain. It has started to feel a lot better since I have not run for a week. It does not have a sharp pain, but more of a weak awful pain in the back of my knee. I have had hip pain in the same leg, probably related. I will follow your advice and strengthen all the areas!! I wish I was going to NH, it is great race. You will love it! I love your blog. I thought your truffles were donut holes, though!! I am a low-life chocolate lover, I prefer m&ms over godiva!! I am definitely a cheap date. Also, I would buy one of your “run hard the food’s almost gone” t-shirts!! My t-shirt would probably read “save me some food, i can’t run any faster than this!!”

You must be aware by now, that for all the athletic cicks out there, this blog pretty much defines heaven. Running AND chocolate. Soo good. I come here often, looking for inspiration. I’ve just started running more seriously–I’d like to do a half marathon and a triathlon or two next summer… In the meantime, I think I mostly want to drool looking at those delicious truffles. Seriously, YUM.

A fawn is a deer yes? Like Bambi?
Mr blingbling bought me a copy of your Runners World home from his trip, and two other running mags. I am loving them.

There was something just galactically wrong with seeing those words ” 8 miles” next to those yummies. It just looked like penance or something — LOL! Congrats on the mileage, and try to get some personal time in somewhere between all that busy!
