How do you like them tomatoes?
Seven miles on the schedule and I did them at a good pace. 9:37. I worked real hard on form and pace. When I start to daydream, I end up running faster, so I tried very hard to concentrate on keeping my form clean and my pace on target.
I took thursday off. My feet hurt really bad. It hurt to stand and walk and sometimes just sitting there. My body was saying “stop”, so this time I listened. Two days off and I felt pretty good today. Minor grumbling from the shins (when do they not whine right?), but other than that, the nice pace kept me feeling good.
I passed my running partner from last week. He was heading back and was just wearing shorts and shoes today. By his speed, I’m glad he was not running with me because I would have been tempted to run faster. I need slower long runs.
Today was just a beautiful day. Sunny, but not hot. We even have the windows open. I walked out to the garden to check the tomatoes and found many had ripened already. I had to pitch 3 because the bugs had eaten half of them, but these were still good.
Can’t wait for that tomato and mayo sandwich. :)

Glad the run went well. That’s the one problem I have with running with other people, I always want to run their pace, which is usually faster than mine.
And those tomatoes look great. Mmm…that sandwich sounds great too. I grew up on them and now enjoy the summer more and more because they are so easy to make.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I’m drooling at the thought of a tomato and mayo sandwich. It’s the perfect summertime food; walk to the garden, picka a tomoato, eat it 5 minutes later..mmmm….darnit why isn’t there space for a garden in my apartment!

So what I want to know - didja toss the rotten ‘maters? At the old house, the one with enough sun in the yard to grow a garden, finding half-eaten tomatos was almost fun, ’cause then you could toss them into the woods and watch them burst.
Oh, and what’s going on with the Twins? I suppose it’s been a while since you hit the gym, but I miss those guys.
