Finished
I stayed up late (too late) and finished “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”.
No spoilers here don’t worry, if there actually is someone out there that hasn’t finished it already.
I will say that I liked this one, although not at much as the last. It was much better than the second, which sucked. I think she had a real hit with the first book and then lost her focus when writing the second. From there on she did ok.
Something about books like this leaves me sad though. Nobody can really fly, even with a broom. And nobody is going to show up at your door and tell you that you actually have magical powers and can do all kinds of cool stuff that you didn’t realize. Then again, there aren’t powerful, evil beings floating around sucking the life out of people either. I guess it evens out.

I think I’m the only person on earth who hasn’t read any HP. And Randy Jackson was at Run Hit Wonder yesterday, and I was like, is he a country star? (I guess he’s from American Idol). Yikes.

My 12 y.o. son just finished it last night, so now I get to read it :) It’s a requirement of parenting a boy his age - aren’t I lucky? I’m always sad when I finish a good book like hers, because I miss the world I’ve been visiting. It’s like coming back from an adventurous vacation.

I’m glad to know that I’m not the only guy who was tied up with this.
The biggest sense of loss i’m feeling is knowing there is only one more story left to be told…

I’m glad to hear someone else say the second one was a dud. I finished halfblood prince this past weekend. I thought it was sort of like a really good set before the spike in volleyball. I like the fact that they’ve gotten more focused on the central struggle as they’ve gone along but will be sad when the last one is out and I’ve read it.
Speaking of superpowers; would you take flying or invisibility?
