Its official. A PR!
Official time 1:59:13. 122/585, overall. 13/42, age group. Beat my old PR by 20 seconds.
And how do I feel today April Anne? My calves are pretty sore (doing the Tin Man thing as C says). I think they were pretty relaxed on the run, but going up hills they have to stretch so much, that I think they just got the tar beaten out of them. I was really conscious about not pushing off with my toes, but I could feel the stretch on the steep hills.
Good news? Not a peep out of the shins. Shhhhhhhh. They’re sleeping. :)

Yay for the PR! It feels good to have it be official. And on a trail too. Maybe we’re converting you afterall. ;-)

Wooo hoooo Jon!!! I feel like we have this special bond now, having tackled our first trail races at the same time. You kicked a**! I was nodding my head at the part about being frustrated by the line of slow-moving people…and the part about sore calves.
And you have SNOW to deal with too…holy schmoley.
You are SO READY for Detroit!!!

Something about having the medal in your hand. *sigh* isn’t it great?? Did you sleep with it on your pillow? I didn’t. But I seriously considered it. (grin).

Big Jon! Awesome man - great fun reading about your process out on the “frozen tundra”. I about died when my wife told me they were expecting snow in Kalamazoo. 80 degrees here in Brisbane. Ahem. Don’t hate me!

Amazing- a PR! Good job :) It seems to me like you have a race once a week :-o There are propably not as much races in whole Europe than there is in your neighbourhood :D
April 26th, 2005 23:19
okay, I got the 37 second rule on this post…slow down cowboy? How un-gender-neutral is that?! LOL Very funny. Allrighty, I’m pretty sure it has been more than 37 seconds and I believe what I was saying was: what can I say? you rock and inspire as usual
April 27th, 2005 06:46
I’m late saying so but Congratultions Jon!! A PR is great in itself and what with the trail, snow, and emotionally (& physically) draining week you had, no small feat!
April 28th, 2005 00:54
You definitely have a fan club! Way to go, Jon. kirsten
