Your running schedule can be moved around, I do think $125 is expensive though.

Running Blogs are great, I'd never heard of Chi Running until last week. Now I am thinking of buying the book ...

Do the workshop, if you can afford it. Your running schedule needs to be flexible to your real life demands, or else you'll just end up resenting it.

As you said, though, I wouldn't try to change your style right before a race.

I'm with the majority. Do the run another day, learn some Chi Running techniques while you have the chance. There's nothing like learning from real people.

If you really think the workshop has something for you I would skip the 5-miler (or combine it with your 11 mile run:-)

The workshop looks really interesting, so I'd sacrifice the 5-miler. I would like to attend a ChiRunning workshop as well, and there is a 2-day one in Washington, D.C. in June. But the $250 price tag is a bit rich for my blood.

By the way, what does ChiRunning actually look like?

I'm with Dianna, you can afford to miss a short run but NOT a long one during training, and especially this close. Jeff too is right, a closer look at the syllabus may prevent you feeling like you've wasted time and money though. Okay, so glad I could say everything the other, far wiser people already shared! LMBO :)

I would go--but that's because I really want to know more about form and avoiding injuries (I have the book, but I have the feeling the session is more involved and helpful.)

Tough call - $125 is like a new pair of shoes or a couple of new outfits...lol.

i'd take a real close look at the content of the workshop. if they have a syllabus posted, read through that and see if there's anything in it that a DVD or book wouldn't cover.

personally, at $125, i'd pass.

Go to the session. Switch the long run to Saturday and don't worry about the 5 miler. The changes you may make to your form will most likely help you...and if my most recent race is any indicator, you will resort to your previous form when/if you get tired during your race. Even the small changes I have made to my form were helpful, not hurtful.
