Its here!!!!
Looky, looky what the UPS dude done broughted me!
My new trail shoes!
(insert sounds of crickets chirping)
Ok, ok, so this wasn’t so very exciting for most people but I’m darn excited. These are the Inov8 Flyroc 310’s, the most advanced trail shoes ever created, and a totally cool fashion statement to boot.
I tried them on and they feel very good. Not as much cushion as road shoes, so there are going to take getting used to if I encounter alot of rock, but then again, they aren’t designed for rock. They’re designed for trails! Dirt, leaves, steep hills that need serious biting. And look at the teeth!
I can’t believe that tomorrow is Friday and its my official rest day. I have to wait all the way til Saturday to go run in them. What if I just put ‘em on and head over to the park and do a very small little jog on a little tiny trail? Just a few yards. Maybe a quarter mile, just to see? Hmmmm? A mile? A mile can’t hurt. And i rested today anyway. Hmmm? No? Crap.
Anyway, I have my new shoes and I’ll be wearing them around the house for two days until I’m allowed to run in them.

Those look to have a great tread Jon…it has what I personally refer to as a roll thread…I find the long ridge down the centre helps me have better balance over wedgey terrain. I have no idea if the shoe gods do that on purpose but I like it. I still use NB 804s for the trail. Nice aggressive tread but not really enough support in the ankle. I butterfly lace to help out but it’s not really enough. Let us know how these sweet babies work BF! ;)

Awesome … new shoes are definitely a reason for excitement!! And … is that a … hmmmm … chocolate wrapper directly beside the shoe on the right … or .. is that me wishful thinking??

Look how at the mere MENTION of shoes, you’ve connected so strongly with the ladies. Who’da thunk it? ;)
Cool shoes! (embracing my feminine side also)

Hey I’m jealous, they look like great shoes! I could really use some like that too! Hmmmm, wearing them around the house for two days, sounds familiar, do I know anyone else that does that:->
p.s. Please remember to take them off before you go to bed, that tread can be dangerous ;->

Now, I’m really excited about them for a few reasons. I met all the owners of that company and they’re really nice folks, and deserving of greatness. Second, if they last as good as they seemed when I squeezed and twisted them at the booth, I think they’ll be killer shoes. Finally, if I’d had $80 the day of my marathon, I’d have bought them and used them virgin for the last 1/2 of my marathon, due to my shoelace malfunction.
Let us know!

Be careful you don’t answer the door in those things… they might sense the fresh air and you’ll have no choice but to RUN and BE FREE!
