More iron

I’m just totally shocked. My legs have felt really tired this week and I was sure when I got to lifting, things would be less than stellar. Totally shocked, I kicked serious butt on the weights. Legs just blasted the weights away. I kept checking to make sure I had the right setting. Heck, the squats just jumped a full level! Totally shocked and amazed.

I did all my leg lifts first, and then moved to upper body. My right arm is still hurting so I ended up skipping the fly, benchm and dumbell lift again. I did try one lift on the Nautilus bench because it isolates more, but there was still some pain. I want to stay away from stuff that will aggravate it, until it heals all the way. But other than the skipped stuff, I did go up on everything. Once a week weights, one set, and I’m still improving. Gotta love that.

Oh yes, and the arm. I moved the mouse on my home and work computer over to the left side (switched the buttons too), to see if that will help my ease the pain on my shoulder. I did notice that today already it is not as painful. Hmmmmmm. Too much internet?

And let me say that its really funky using your other arm to run the mouse. Try it for a day and see how it makes your brain feel. Somehow, this must be good for your brain.

I had something else cool to say but I can’t think of it.

Today I have 4 miles easy. That may be tough to do at the gym since it will push me over the 30 minute limit. Last night there was 10000000 people there and it was really crowded. I may end up coming home and running on the road if it isn’t dark yet. Otherwise I will have to be a bad gym member.

Oh and I got kicked off the treadmill the other day. I was definately under my 30 minutes but this guy said he had signed up for it. I was damn sure I had signed up for the right time. But I finished and he got on. Later, when he was gone, I went back and checked. Yup, his name was there. And right next to it, on the line for the next machine, was my name. Doh! Me so stupid.

Oh, and I ordered Paula Radcliffe’s book. Should be here on the 15th. Why does it take 10 days to get a book from England? It shipped on 3/4. I assume it came by plane. Why does it take the rest of the time to get here? Grrrrrr. I want my book.

Ok, all done.

No, wait. One more. I had a 10K scheduled for Saturday, but its 2 hours away. I’m not driving 2 hours for a 10K. So I may run in the Shamrock’s and Shenanagan’s (sp?) 5K in Ann Arbor. Closer to home. Too late for a T-shirt, I think. Good food? I hope so. :)

Ok, now I’m done.

Sounds like your training is starting to take off. What perfect timing for a 5k race! Good luck on it - I bet you’ll just fly through it!

I had 2 wrist surgeries in one year and just started mousing entirely with my left hand. Now, I switch back and forth as needed when my wrists get stressed out… It’s pretty cool. I’m trying other things left handed too, like chopsticks. S’fun.

Dawn stole my thunder - I’ve been a track-ball guy for a couple of years. Work like champs, are quieter, and less RSI.

And, it is all about the food…
