Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I had to work midnight shift this AM. I tried to sleep beforehand so I wouldn’t be dead tired, but I couldn’t sleep a bit so I dragged myself to work at 11:30pm. It was freezing cold out too. 7F or some such nonsense.

So, I got done around 7:30 but I had to stay in town so I could sign my son up for his next session of gymnastics. There’s always a big line to get into the right class so you want to get there early. So, I spent two hours buying groceries and shopping for running bargains at Target.

I did pretty good on running stuff. I bought two pairs of running tights, running pants, a windbreaker running jacket, and this warm up jacket that was kinda like a thick coolmax material. $60. Not too bad I think.

I spent 2 hours waiting in line to sign up for gymnastics. There were 19 people ahead of me. One woman took 15 minutes because 1) she had not filled out the form yet, 2) she didn’t know which class she wanted, and 3) she was signing up for other families! I hope she gets the same class time as the kid with the annoying electronic toy. And guess what! My son switched class times to no more kid with the elctronic toy! One more week of that stupid toy and its adios muchachos (sp?). See ya, stupid kid with the annoying toy (or is that annoying kid with the stupid toy?).

Finally got home and got to bed at noon. 5 hours of sleep and then up for gymnastics class. Annoying kid with toy. Grrrrrrr. I had ear plugs and sunflower seeds to drown him out. I read my study guide for the Patent Bar. Rule 102. I’m never going to get this all in my head.

So no workout today. Just as well because I’m dead tired. Tomorrow is 3 miles on the ‘mill. I may take Wednesday as a holiday because I worked today (company holiday). I’m sure my weight is out the window because I was eating all off schedule and I ate a bunch of chocolate today. And a piece of fudge. My son and I made fudge on Sunday. It was terrible, but I have to eat some anyway because I’m stupid like that. ;)

Hope your day is going well. More happy posts later this week. Actually, I’m very excited now to try out my new running gear. I should be a little warmer with real running pants now. Hopefully, it will get above 20F soon.

How was your weekend?

Despite your weakened condtion, you did indeed spell muchacho correcto.

So you found good running tights at Target? Lycra? For women they only seem to have the bellbottom yoga pants, which I hate, so I may have to wander over to the men’s section.

I’m sure you’re asleep right now, so I’ll whisper. YEAH for the new warm running gear! Stay warm.

Nothing motivates like new running gear! I’m going to borrow some of your mojo for a 5 mile treadmill run tonight. :) - Mia

New duds, yippee. When you start feeling good, will you do David Lee Roth kicks in your new spandex tigts?

Good running gear is essential. I paid about $200 for my first set of winter running gear and was quite happy I did.

Anyhow, I love your blog :)

You are the full service man: An entertaining blogger, a good dad, a runner, a whiner, a chocolate afficianado and a happy hubby. What more could the world want from a man in spandex tights? (Didn’t think I could spell aficianado, did you?)

Yay for winter running gear! It can last you a long time, and you’ll be thankful you have it.

If your face is feeling cold, try a neck tube that can stretch up your nose. They stay on better than scarves, and you can adjust them while running better. They’re cheaper than the running masks, and you can get them pretty much anywhere. Also, if you’re concerned about sore dry skin around your eyes, try covering the skin with vaseline (or borrow some of your wife’s moisturizer) before you go out.

I love Target. Most of my running clothes probably come from their bargain racks… although down here, they don’t seem to have any running tights on offer, so the displays look the same year round…
