A breakthrough

Stepped on the scale this AM (well, Friday AM anyway). 173.8. Somebody pinch me. Try again. Yup, 173.8.

Starting weight: 182.6 (11/24/04)
Current weight: 173.8
Target weight: 170.0 (1/31/05)

I’m a bit of a realist and I know that this is really temporary and sudden drops don’t happen because somehow your body decided to burn up 5000 calories while you were sleeping. But, its part of a general downward trend in which there is a lot of static in the data. A sudden very low blip like that is always a good sign though. :) Its amazing what happens when I stop eating 1000 calories in chocolate a day.

Today was a rest day. And no gym tomorrow because their closed (wait, I think I have a 3 mile run). We went to see The Polar Express today. First movie as a family in YEARS. We had bought the story book for my son a few (2?) years ago. Its a nice story and I’ve liked all the books from Chris Van Allsburg (sp?). They all have that dog with the spot on his eye in them. Take a look at the right hand bed post in the opening scene of the movie and the dog appears there as a puppet.

The movie ofcourse had to be embellished to make it 100 minutes long so there is a lot of action and funny strange side stories in it. But the animation was decent and the images matched the book too. Nice story. Makes me cry. In the front of the book he explains that he stole the story from a street urchin.

I hope you all are having a nice day. For those that are celebrating Christmas, Merry Christmas. Even if you aren’t, Merry Christmas! Because it sounds cranky to so “Not Merry Christmas”, like I want your Saturday to be bad or something. So Merry Christmas!
