I like that, Richard. I hadn't been thinking of it in those terms. I was looking for distance, not time. Thanks!

The way I get myself to slow down (I did eight today as well - must just be an RBF thing) is to think about the fact that I want my "time" to be as good as possible ... meaning that I want the maximum time running, but I'm limited in that I can only go for eight miles. Sounds weird, but it worked for me today.

Good grief! What a typo that is! I reread that entry and never saw it. Now that I think about it, I think I'll will keep the name. Chocolate milk with cinnamon = The Chocolate Mile!

Yes, Susan, that's kinda wierd that our times are so close. Ofcourse, you were also sick so maybe that's why you were slowing down. :) All I need to do is bottle that virus and then spread it to the other runners a week before the race, and I'm all set!

Um...did you notice that the time from my 8-miler on Wednesday was almost identical to yours? Cool. And I'm with Susan on the chocolate mile. If there was one of those, I suspect that I would run muucchh slower (you know, to savor every step of the way.)

A chocolate mile???? I want one of those! (Sorry, couldn't resist:)) Sounds like a good, strong run, Jon. I have the opposite problem--every time I speed up, I get out of breath. So I just keep plodding along where it feels comfortable.
