I ran till it hurt

4.5 miles at 9:14 pace. I ran until my ITB started to hurt a little. Not alot. I let it get past the “tight” phase, which turned out to kinda fade in and out. I was hoping for 5 miles, but I’ll take what I can get.

I was happy to see there was nobody on the treadmills, so staying over the time limit wasn’t such a big deal. About 2 miles into it, a woman gets on the treadmill next to me. I’d seen her there before. She’s on some college Lacross team. It seemed really odd that she wanted the treadmill next to me since there were about 8 in the row. Then she started running at the same pace I was. That really bugged me because we started to run in step. Right about then I could see her look down at my display, probably to see my pace, and wondering why we were in step. I could hear the thoughts in her head “Is this old man running at my pace? Is my CPR card current?”. Shut up, kid.

I forgot my new shoes tonight. Lara said she did the same thing, but I didn’t have to worry about forgetting my bra ;) I ran in my old Adrenaline’s without the Superfeet, and you know, they still felt really good to run in. I wonder if my ITB problems also stem from the wrong shoes, although I have to admit, after the Catch Your Breath 10K, my knee felt kinda wobbly walking around during the day. Maybe that was the start of the injury.

I also did the full lower body weights again. I’m actually overdue for upper body, but I’ll do that tomorrow night with crosstraining, while my legs rest a bit. Then I think I may skip lower weights until Saturday or Sunday to give them a longer rest.
