Run and cross

Sunday I rode the bike for 20 minutes and then ran on the treadmill for 2.0 miles. My left shin felt a little crampy again but not sore like last time. A good run, but slow, 12:00 pace. Needs to be slow right now anyway.

My legs and upper body are killing me today. Especially the abs. I didn’t realize I blasted myself so badly on the weights Saturday. Eat my protein. Today is a rest day by the schedule and by what the very old body is telling me. I think I will go have a soak in the hot tub tonight.

Tomorrow could be running or cross training, maybe a combo. This is week 4 of recovery/buildup so I need only 7 miles this week total. I think the week technically starts on Mondays, so I could run 2 miles tomorrow, then again Thursday, then do my 3 mile long run on Sunday.

I can’t go to the gym Wed night so I may move my friday rest day to Wed, which is ok because extra rest between runs this week is a good thing.

Plan:
Mon – rest
Tues – 2 mi + cross
Wed – rest
Thur – 2 mi + cross
Fri – weights
Sat – cross
Sun – 3 mi

I’ve added in the cross training when the mileage is low. I think I lost alot of cardio fitness in my early training before the Martian because I just stopped after 1 or 2 miles.

Mileage so far this year:
127 miles (preparing for Martian 1/2), which was pretty low for that training
Then a whopping 6 miles recovering since then!
