Is it Thursday already?
I did an hour of cross/cardio last night, reading Hal Higdon’s book Marathon. If that doesn’t get you psyched up to race, I don’t know what will.
I’m making an executive decision (seeing as I’m the only one on the executive board) to take today as a rest day. My shins are starting to act up again and I have a 10 mile long run on Saturday (moved from Sunday to maximize recovery time before the race). If I’m really sore for the 10 mile, then I’m not going to make it to the race, I think. One day won’t kill the training and, according to Higdon, its likely to help. My rest day could be spent relaxing in the hottub, or watching Return of the King which I haven’t been able to see yet and for some reason everyone else has! No, not really. There’s no way I’ll be able to go see it.
I was rummaging through the gummy section of the bulk foods at Meijer and found a whole assortment of gummy things. Bears, worms, fish, and even sharks. I’m wondering if these are the generic version of “sharkies”.
