My new heart rate monitor came!
Totally psyched about my new Polar S210 heart rate monitor. I tried it out a few nights ago and it works great. It takes a little getting used to because its like your wearing an underwire bra (yes, it does leave a red impression that looks like I was wearing one), but I’ve gotten over that now.
My rate is about 160 when I’m doing my long run so I’m right about where I want to be. I think I’d like it closer to 150 during the training runs so I’ll work on that.
Last night there were two girls throwing a softball on the track. They would stop when people went by but it was damn annoying anyway.
40 min. cross train tomorrow and then my first 6.0 mile run on Sunday. I’m pumped.
Calf status: still a bit tight and gets sore near the end of the run. Need more ice, more ibuprofen, chocolate.
