I love my new gym but I’m in trouble

Did the 5 mile run on Monday (altered schedule and want to do long run at new gym). The track is great and the atmosphere there is superb.

The trouble came at the end of my run. My calf had alot of pain when I stopped running. Kinda like a cramp or a sore muscle from lifting. I stretched for a long time and did a good cool down. Monday it really hurt and was hard to walk on it. I did a slow walk on the track after a 20 minute soak in the hot tub and a long stretch session. Still hurts today but not as much.

Looking at Higdon’s site, it seems the advice to most folks is REST. 72 hours with no running, then go slow. I’ll try the bike and see if I can keep up the aerobic level until it heals (flat footed riding). More soaking in the hottub too, which seemed to help alot. Ice and ibuprofin.

Cross your fingers. I hope this isn’t the end of my goal.
