Adam Jacobs – Founder of The Final Sprint – Dies Unexpectedly
Posted by Mark Iocchelli Filed Under: News and Opinion
I would like to take a moment to share some sad news. Adam Jacobs of The Final Sprint has passed away.
I did not know Adam very well (we traded one email long ago), but it was fun watching him build The Final Sprint from a tiny little place on the web to a great running resource that featured some terrific podcasts (hosted by Adam), and blogs by well known US distance runners such as Sarah Hall.
Please join me in passing on heartfelt condolences to Adam’s family and friends.
About Mark Iocchelli
Also known as the "Running Blogfather", I'm a 40-something marathoner who has beaten stress fractures and terrible shin splints. Now I'm running double the mileage with no pain - and I'm getting faster. I love to talk about running form and Arthur Lydiard. I also enjoy taking photographs, have a beautiful (and very patient!) wife, and am the proud father of two crazy kids. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments about the site.

This is awful news. I traded emails with Adam when he asked if I wanted to write on his site. It was not long after my husband died so I declined as it was a time where I wasn’t looking for extra attention.
My condolences to his family.

I’m shocked, terrible news. I wrote for TFS for over year, and got to know Adam a bit. He was a class act, and provided much to the running community. Condolences…

This is terrible news. Adam was great to work with. He recorded an interview with me on his podcast. It’s a big loss to the online running community.
