About Nora

I am a native Californian currently settled and running my way bit by bit around the South East of England. Besides running, my training activities include biking, hiking, swimming, yoga, and tap dancing in place while in line at the grocery store. I am addicted to photography and run most races with my camera in hand, just in case.

Susan sounds hot… Wait, what was this podcast about? Oh yeah! Running with dogs. Well done!

I liked the item of running with dogs. I heard on a science podcast that one should not run for long with the dog at a gallop, because it cannot pant properly at a gallop, and it needs to do this to cool. See I hadn’t heard this before but it sounds reasonable to me 🙂

If you are running and want to keep dogs AWAY, there are products you can use that are humane. One is “Muzzle”, by Mace. It is a special pepper spray for dogs. The other is “Ultrasonic Dog Chaser” which deters dogs by emitting a discomforting but not harmful high frequency sound (20,000Hz-25,000Hz), audible to dogs but not to humans. Search for these items on our website.

Is there an ultrasonic device that will deter humans but not dogs. They can be the bigger menace. Especially when they are in a car. 😛
