Don’t Surrender – Conquer!! Snowshoe Racing
I have been wistfully wishing for spring but chances are if you live where it’s cold you are probably dealing with piles of the white stuff. Don’t fight it – strap on a pair of snowshoes. If you are lucky there will be a snowshoe race somewhere near you.

ha! that’s great! I actually know the Guinness World record holder for the fastest mile in snowshoes (5:56). I run with him often.
The Trail Monsters, a local trail group, have some snow shoe runners amongst the ranks. I haven’t bought any, nor cross country skis, so I stick to trail shoes and breaking ground. Builds good strength, I’ll give it that. It’d still be nice to have that claw from the snowshoes on some of the hills though…
