Retail Therapy: Balega Socks
Posted by Runner Susan Filed Under: Gear & Apparel(Ed.’s Note: Runner Susan is off to the Big Apple to run the N.Y.C. marathon on Sunday. Let’s make sure she gets a lot of comment love to carry her on her journey!)
I have a new favorite sock. The Balega sock. Balega brand is relatively new to the US, An American-South African initiative, the socks have been designed and race proven over many years. And the best thing about the sock is that is running focused, using the best raw materials available.
My favorite part about the socks are the hand linked seamless, which eliminates abrasion across the toes. They also have an extra deep heel pocket to ensure they fit the foot and don’t slide down during a run.
Prices start around $8.99 and are available in both cushion and non-cushion socks, all of which utilize our own ‘DryNamix’ moisture management technology. Sizes: small – extra large.

About Susan
I am a runner. I love to run. I hate that my butt jiggles when I do so. I run to inspire my daughter and stay svelte for my husband - but mostly I run for myself. I reluctantly and obsessively weigh myself five times a day. I insist my L & R iPod headphones are in their respective ears. I blog to keep myself on track physically, mentally, and to ensure I do not spend all my money on shoes.

I agree! Long lasting and great feel. My favorite sock, but pricey. Also, hard to find.
Best of luck in NYC! I swear by these socks. I’ve been running in them for the last 3 months while training for the Dallas White Rock Marathon and I couldn’t be happier!
These are awesome-I picked up a pair with my last pair of new shoes.
I need to check those out! I trust your mad shopping skillzzzzzzzz.
Good luck this weekend!
