Thanks Jeanne (and 21st Century Mom, who has this on her blog) for reminding us there still was a race last Sunday — and a fine one at that if you were up to the challenging weather — and had water at the aid stations.
I think it’s good that the running community continues to discuss all that went wrong in Chicago over the weekend to avoid repeating the same mistakes. It’s also good to be reminded there were some really exciting, close finishes that day from outstanding athletes. Given the extreme conditions, their feat is all the more impressive.
I agree the female finish was unbelievable from crowd high-fives to being smoked in the final 100m. Ouch! This is the stuff that drives you to train late hours — I don’t want to be that guy or woman with the regret of being beaten at the end.
youjus t wanna scream TURN AROUND TURN AROUND already….arghhhhh!
live and learn!
