Haile Gebrselassie Sets New Marathon World Record!

Posted by Filed Under: Elite Running

Some called Paul Tergat’s record an impossible feat to eclipse. Well, Haile Gebrselassie has proven it wasn’t with a finish at the Berlin Marathon of 2:04:26!

After having set numerous other world records, this amazing accomplishment certainly solidifies Haile’s well deserved position at the very top of the world’s best ever distance runners. Congratulations Haile!gebrselassie_gal_l_07.jpg

I watched the finish on German TV, what an amazing runner! In an interview he said two amazing things. 1) He apologized to the public for not running in 2:03 like he promised. 2) He apologized to the previous world record holder (and friend) Paul Tergat for dethroning him. Wow!
