Photo of the Week: Everyday People

” I thought it was important to provide balanced coverage of the marathon—to capture images not only of elite runners and celebrities but also the disabled and non-elites (the everyday men and women) who for me are truly the heroes and true winners of the marathon.—Farinhiet451

This week’s photo comes from Farinhiet451’s Flicker set – NYC Places, Events, and People. It was taken during the 2006 NYC Marathon. Picking a favorite from this set wasn’t easy so be sure and check out his other photos of everyday runners.

We are always looking for interesting photos so if you’ve got a photo you would like featured, please leave a comment with the details.

    Awesome picture!

I just ran a half marathon and when I looked up the oldest finishers – age 74! Those are the people that truly inspire me.
