Finally – A Race Calendar About YOU!

Posted by Filed Under: Web Site Announcements

race calendarCRN got its start with bloggers – specifically, running bloggers. WAIT! Don’t rush off just yet if you’re not a running blogger because this announcement just may be of value to you too.

Running bloggers always want to know what other running bloggers are up to. We madly check blog posts and subscribe to dozens or even (in the case of blogfathers) hundreds of RSS feeds in our efforts to keep tabs on blog friends. One of the big things we like to keep track of is when other bloggers are racing so that we can:

  1. Wish them luck before the race, and
  2. Check in with them after their race to see how they did.

But it can be really difficult to keep track of everyone’s races because most calendars list races and don’t do anything to notify us when our favorite bloggers are racing.

Our race calendar has always been different. It’s focus has always been to provide tools to help bloggers stay tuned into each other’s races. It was a great idea (if we don’t say so ourselves) but it wasn’t very easy to use.

Well, we’ve given the CRN Race Calendar an overhaul. It looks different, its easier to use, and it has all kinds of nifty search and notification features built right in. We’ve even created a widget so you can put upcoming races on your blog or web site!

Runners who want to share their races, and people wanting to keep track of runners will love this calendar. So, if you are a running blogger, have a website, or list your races on another web site, you now have a way to connect your blog or web site and notify other people about your upcoming races.

Check out the new, improved CRN Race Calendar. Trust us – it rocks!

You don’t have a “widget” for movable type. Which one, of the available options, do you recommend?

You’re with BTT right? I think these should work just fine there. You should be able to paste the javascript code right into your template but maybe check with Jeff on that. If it’s a no-go, I’m sure we can fix you up. 🙂
