New Year’s Day: A Blogger Shows Us We’re All Capable of the Extraordinary

Posted by Filed Under: Inspiration & Motivation

Beansprout is one of us. She’s a runner with average running talent.

But what she’s about to accomplish today is definitely not average. No. It’s much more than that. Through goal setting, determination and her passion for running, today, Beansprout will reach a milestone that deserves everyone’s attention.

As I write this article, I eagerly await Beansprout’s announcement that she’s run her 100th run in 100 days. 100 days of running with a minimum of 10k distance each and every day.

On September 23, 2006, Beansprout modestly wrote about being inspired by Dean Karnazes goal to run 50 marathons in 50 days:

I’ve decided that I am going to run 100 10K’s in 100 days. It’s not like that comes anywhere near what these people are doing but…it gives me a goal to strive for. So…beginning tomorrow I will run a 10K each day. As serendipity has it…the 100th 10K will be run on January 1, 2007. This would be a great accomplishment to ring the New Year in with!

And it looks like Beansprout is about to reach her goal. Happy New Year, Beansprout! You are an extraordinary inspiration.

Happy New Year, everyone! What’s your goal for 2007?
