I was taking the opportunity to be sarcastic about Adeel's opinion that marathons are easy for anyone who runs them slowly. The direct contradiction of the first line of this quote and the first line of Adeel's piece amused me, and I pointed it out.

I got the point of the quote.

I was taking the opportunity to be sarcastic about Adeel’s opinion that marathons are easy for anyone who runs them slowly. I can assure you that my quote was meant as Mark stated in his comment - in my opinion, being sidelined due to injury is much more difficult to cope with than the physical pain of training for the marathon.

It seems like Adeel’s article on “50 Marathons in 50 days in not Impressive” is the driving force behind SlowRunner’s comment.
