Photo of the Week: Ironman Canada
A couple of years ago I ran my first marathon and for me that was a big challenge. Now imagine swimming for 3.8 kms (2.4 mi), followed by 180 kms (112 mi) of cycling before you head off to run that marathon. Well that’s just what many athletes did over the weekend in Penticton, British Columbia where Ironman Canada was held yesterday, August 27th.
I managed to find a picture of last year’s winner over at ptlpix’s flicker site. If you want to see photos of what happens for the rest of an Ironman you might want to check out his Ironman Canada 2005 photo set.

Above is a photo of Chris Lieto, bib #28. He finished first with a time of 08:33:32. I haven’t had a chance to check yesterday’s results so I wonder if someone beat that time.
